Sharon and I spent the day with the girls Easter weekend. We took them shopping and out to lunch. It was a fun day. On the way home in the car, Sharon was lamenting the fact that the banks were closed and she couldn't cash her income tax refund cheque.
Me: "Just use the machine"
Sharon: "I don't trust them".
Me: "Dude - seriously? How can you trust some random person behind a counter who may have started there yesterday and will accidentally send your cheque to Bangladesh rather than put it to your account? You use the machine, you are entering your bank info, it gets recorded and videotaped. COMMON".
Zoe: "Auntie Sandra - why are you so anxious?
Me: "What do you mean Zoe?" half laughing.
Zoe: "Well - you sure seem anxious at Auntie Sharon!"
OMG - we all burst out laughing at that one. She is too precious!

Sad but true....
The girls and I were sitting in the car waiting for Auntie Sharon as she was filling up at the gas station. A Michael Jackson song came on the radio and I began singing and dancing for the girls. Zoe asked me "who is this girl??". I laughed and said "it's not a girl. This is Michael Jackson." Zoe replied "well, he sure sings like a girl".
Can't argue with that one.

Cirque du Soleil's new protege
Zoe and Jasmine both like to hold your hands, climb up your torso and then do a back flip. It always makes me nervous since their little arms twist around. For this reason, I always stop them before they can flip back. Zoe tried to reassure me one afternoon:
"Don't worry Auntie Sandra. I'm an actress. I'm just practicing for the circus."
Oh. OK then. Carry on. :)

A long time ago....
Zoe began telling me a story as we sat in her make-believe house (ie: the woods outside of Nana&Grampie's house). She began her story with this:
"A long long time ago, when there were no people in the world...you know, where there were only horses..."
I nodded. Sure. Horses and dinosaurs. Makes sense.

It's a Dorcas thing...
Easter weekend - Zoe and Jasmine ran out to meet me at the road. As we were walking away from my car, I hit my remote to lock my car and it let out a little BEEP. Zoe turned around to look at my car and asked what the noise was? I said "it was a little toot from my car". She turned back around, took my hand and muttered "EVERYTHING toots around here". I burst out laughing. She is TOO funny! xo
This B&B is slow...
Mom and I were getting breakfast for the girls one morning after a sleepover. They were munching on their cereal. Suddenly Zoe sits up and yells out to Mom, who is at the sink: "Hey - can we get some toast with this?". I stiffled a laugh...because the way she said it was hilarious. But no worries Erin - we did ask her to be more polite with her food requests. :)
Africa is far...
Zoe and I were talking about Africa. I asked her if she knew where it was? She stretched out her arms as far as they would go and said "It's this far away".

Zoe's first dance performance
Zoe was AMAZING this weekend in her first dance recital. She was so cute in her little outfit and her ponytail! Nana, Grampie, Auntie Sandra, Jasmine and Daddy went to see her afternoon performance and Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Laurie and Mommy went to the evening performance. Rave reviews from all! She was one tired snookums on Sunday. I think she had some nice downtime with Mommy and Jasmine. :)
